One of the staples in any wardrobe since its inception in the 17th century in Nimes, France, has been the fabric of Denim. Versatile, sturdy, and functional, it became a favourite through generations and continues to dominate our everyday clothing.
Widely known to be unhealthy for its impact on the environment, we decided to make it soft, not just on the body, but also on our conscience with our range of Eco Denim or Green Denim!
Is Eco Denim a myth?
Denim, traditionally, is the most resource-heavy and environmentally damaging fabric in the fashion line. As consumers, we cannot now imagine clothing that does not include denim, however we can take that step to make a choice between exploitative fast fashion or a brand that combines ethics and quality into one.

Why was sustainable denim introduced?
A more conscious world has evolved realising the years of unspoken damage due to fast fashion and its impact on climate change. Denim manufacturing processes are detrimental to the environment and workers' health. A single pair of non-organic cotton jeans use almost 6900 litres of water in production and extreme chemical fertilizers are used to grow cotton specifically used for denim. In addition, various chemical dyes are required to manufacture denim, all of which permeates the water tables and causes harm to plant and human life.
In fashion, innovations do not need to be about always creating something new, but also to reform the pre-existing notions of environmental sensitivity. The demand for eco denim is on the increase with heightened awareness of the problem. As a result, eco denim is becoming increasingly popular, resulting in minimal environmental impact.
What makes B77 denim eco-friendly and sustainable?
Only organic cotton is used in B77 denims along with chemical-free Indigo dyes, greatly reducing the influx of pesticides and toxic waste. Growing organic cotton has a low environmental impact by conserving energy and natural resources during the process. These manufacturing techniques are combined with wet denim techniques such as scraping, grinding, and distressing to produce a unique pattern.
